1/28 Guillow PBY 5a This is the Guillow PBY 5a kit converted to a post-war Canso rescue
aircraft. The entire model was covered with 1/32 balsa, sealed and
sanded as shown in the construction photo. Details such as float cut-outs
under the wing, wheel well cut outs, movable control surfaces etc.
were added. A number of photos of actual Cansos provided the color
scheme and decals. It is very difficult to obtain lettering and decals
(especially Canadian) for such a scale so all markings were computer
generated. This is a really big model with a span of 451/2 ".
