Taka-ryu

by Ben Mignano

In 1945 Japan wanted to build their version of the Fw190c or Ta153, but the war in the Pacific prevented their efforts. So I followed up on history, and styled and scratched built my own out of styrene/resin 1:32 scale mock up.

I gave the project an name; "Taka-ryu", means dragon hawk. It has the DB 605 powerplant, which gives a speed of 472 mph...a long range fighter which can escort the "Fugaku" bombers safely to their destination and back, hence the squadron emblem on the tail which is a symbol, symbolizing a swoop around a blue ball.

A blend of German engineering and Shogun.
