A4-E Skyhawk
by Ed Okun
Thanks for posting my Israeli A4-E photos on your terrific site. I have had some inquiries from visitors to your site about this conversion, so I have attached photos of my "In Progress", Israeli A4-H.
This model will represent a "Valley" 109 sq. aircraft as seen in 1968. The model uses some of the "Cutting Edge Design" CEC32072 A-4H conversion resin parts, including the vertical tail tip, and the intakes. The conversion is quite straight-forward for an early IAF Skyhawk. No exhaust pipe extension, humpback avionics pack or bent refueling probe on this bird. Some very minor surgery which was accomplished in a couple of evenings and the parts fit fine. i took the time to polish out the join so that it would be seamless.
The green paint on this early scooter is different to show the original Douglas Aircraft color which was FS34258. The later, israeli painted Skyhawks and all F4 Phantoms were painted with the McDonnell shade of green FS34227. I have attached a comparison view of both schemes.
