The Fokker VII was my second attempt at scratch building. Having learned how to work with brass I decided I needed a challenging subject to refine my skills and push them to new limits. The fuselage structure was similar to the DR I triplane, however the engine looked like it could be fun to figure out how to fabricated. The upper and lower crankcases were built up in layers of 1/8" brass sheet stock and soldered together and shaped all by hand with a file very carefully since one cannot go back and use filler.
Look close at bottom of radiator and you can see hose clamp.
Gun breeches open, throttle lever rotates, tachometer is central instrument.
