First off, "Thanks" to Chris at CRM hobby in St. Louis. I usually build WW1 planes and thought I would try this. No idea how, mind you. I went about once a week and asked about a zillion questions. My first time with after market decals. As always, he was a wealth of knowledge and most helpful.

This was a $10.00 motorized kit off of E-Bay, advertised with no decals. I figured those would be pretty easy to come by. I opted out on the motor during assembly. I chose the "To War With The Yoxford Boys" set as they were very colorful. I chose Frenesi because there are lots of the "Old Crow" builds.

The kit had the dorsal fin and Frenesi did not, so that had to be removed. The kit had no wheel wells, so they were scratch-built and the doors were cut out. In the cockpit the seat was changed. Some padding and headrest and control stick boot were added.

The drop tanks were totally re-done and some brake lines added. The figures are a USAAF pilot and a re-worked German mechanic.

Thanks a bunch to whoever wrote the article on tarmac building. That works great. I routed and stained some scrap wood, built the tarmac, then weathered and added some foliage. The wall and drum are from Tamiya.
