This is my Trumpeter 1:32nd scale Me 262 built as Heinz Bar's "Red 13" Me 262A-1a (Wk-Nr 110559) III./EJG 2, Lechfeld, March 1945. It was painted with Gunze Mr Aqueous Color, and the decals are Eagle Cals. I used the superb Flory washes to weather the paintwork and replaced the wheels with a set produced by Master Casters.

I made seatbelts from tin foil using the MDC fittings. Wiring was added behind the instrument panel and throughout the fuselage wheel bay. I made up a tiny spring for the canopy arrestor strap and turnbuckles for the aerial wire.

The colour scheme for this aircraft is open to debate, I settled on RLM 81/82 as there are a number of good colour photographs of an aircraft with a very close serial number to Red 13 painted in 81/82. This is a great kit but it takes time to build as you seem to spend forever re-scribing detail when you rub seams down!
