Trumpeter 1/32 P-40B Tomahawk

By Tolga Ulgur

This is Trumpeter’s 1/32 P-40 B Tomahawk. This was built several years ago with the markings of RAF 112nd squadron. Construction began from the engine and I decided to replace exhausts parts by Nobblecraft resin products.

Next step was cockpit area. Trumpeter’s cockpit was too shallow and impossible to get a good result with the parts from the box. So I decided to use old “Cutting Edge” cockpit set. It needs some surgery during the replacement.

PE instrument panel was from Eduard. Wheel wells were also modified by Eduard exterior set. The cockpit painted to US interior green with Gunze Sangyo acrylic. The seat was painted to natural metal color with Alclad Aluminium lacquer.

Upper surfaces were painted to Dark earth and Middlestone with Gunze Sangyo acrylics. I have used Model Master enamel paint for the Azure Blue on the lower surfaces.

The decals were from Eagle Cal decal set # EC-71. The British type pitot tube was scratchbuilt. Final additions were GM 2 gunsight and antenna mast on the rear fuselage from my spares box.
