Hasegawa 1/32 Bf 109G-6 Erich Hartmann

By Esteban Murador

Perhaps one of the most known aircraft and most produced was the Messerschmitt Bf 109. The Bf 109G-6 variant carried 13mm machine guns on the top nose replacing the old 7.92mm. A 20mm cannon was also installed inside the spinner that made this Bf 109G-6 variant a deadly and lethal weapon. The Messerschmitt Bf 109 produced many aces during WWII. Among these aces was the best known ace of aces, Major Erich Hartmann also known as the Blond Knight. It is said that Erich Hartmann has never lost a wingman in air combat. Major Erich Hartmann flew “Yellow 1” and for sure achieved several victories with this aircraft. He finished his flying career with 352 victories.

I used Hasegawa’s crisp scale model aircraft with decals to produce Erich Hartmann's Bf 109G-6. I also used MDC’s aftermarket cockpit to enhance the model. Great representation of Hartmann’s aircraft.
