Hasegawa 1/32 Fw 190D-9 "Black 14"

By Daniel Sahling

Finished on the first day of spring, I present the Hasegawa 1/32 Fw 190D-9 "Black 14". I decided to do this scheme from EagleCals since it was a little different than most Luftwaffe subjects, utilizing the elusive RLM 76 Blue-Green and a couple other green colors (For Spring). I did this one OOB, with only the EagleCals set, let me say these are some of the finest decals I've ever worked with, if you're considering a subject that they have markings for I say pick them up. The kit itself is wonderful, I hardly had to use any filler at all, comes together really well with excellent fit. The only thing one must do is use care when fitting the wings to the fuselage to get a good fit with the right amount of dihedral. I used Mr. Color for the main camouflage colors: RLM 76 (Blue-Green I used "Duck Egg Green"), RLM 82, and RLM 83, I also did regular RLM 76 for the drop tank; as well as Tamiya and Model Master for different parts here and there. I had a really good time doing this camouflage scheme, I think I'm starting to get the hang of Luftwaffe WWII camo, especially the mottling technique which can really make or break a finish. Anyways, I hope everyone enjoys checking it out, I'd be more than happy to answer any questions about various parts of the build and paintwork. I think next time I'm going to pick up the Fw 190D-13 resin conversion and try my hand at "Yellow 10" once I get a little more experience with my mottling techniques.
