HK Models 1/32 Mosquito - Speedbird: Mossie in BOAC Markings

By Tom Wilson

This is the HK Models Mosquito Mk IV in BOAC markings, thanks to Fundekals wonderful set. Love the overall shape of the Mossie but don't want to dedicate the time and effort to get the most out of the gorgeous Tamiya FB version? The HK kit is a true pleasure to build: a one-piece fuselage and wings are just two examples of the phenomenal engineering.

British Overseas Airways Corporation used several De Havilland Mosquitos during WWII, taking advantage of the amazing speed of this aircraft to run clandestine missions between England and Sweden, and carried a wide variety of cargo, including diplomatic personnel, Niels Bohr (Danish atomic physicist), and ball bearings. The build is basically out of the box, though I modified the outboard exhausts per Jennings Heilig's great article.
