Linden Hill Decals Announcements Mark Proulx has just informed us of the new decals we can expect from Linden Hill. They are:
The Iraqi sets (which, BTW, covers more aircraft types in 48th scale and more again in 72nd) is designed to complement Tom Cooper's excellent Iraqi Fighters book. As such, instructions will be "thorough, but minimal" since the book is really needed for reference anyway. The art in the book thus serves as the main "instructions art". Linden Hill is also the North American distributor for this book. Aircraft types covered in 32nd are: MiG-17, MiG-19, MiG-21, and Hunter. Several a/c (MiG-21s and Hunter) feature Iranian and Israeli kill markings. Their stories are given in the book. Tail markings variations from the very early jet days through to the 1990s are provided for.
Next up, a variety of 2 seat Su-27UBs (and one Su-30 for those who can handle a minor conversion). Many subject aircraft have featured in the LHD "Flankers on Patrol" series in 72nd and 48th scale. Recently researched Kazakhstan 2 seaters, plus a "bonus" Kazakh single seater have been added to the pile. In summary there are:
Here we have another installment in the LHD Post Soviet Air Forces series. In fact, three sets in this series feature some pretty unique large scale aircraft coverage. Like the Kazakh a/c in the preceding set, an evolution of national markings is covered nicely, in this case with sereral roundel variations for wings and fuselage and even more tail "Trident" variations. Roundel and Trident main colours are printed separately so as to allow for the greatest variety of selection without adding yet another full decal sheet to the set. There are also several unit badges for nose and tail, a snake marking for an early service 2-seater, several styles of intake warning markings, and a false canopy marking for 2 of the choices. Very complete coverage. Instructions for this and LHD32006 will be the thorough research effort we've seen previously from Linden Hill. © Mark Proulx 2008 |
