Hasagawa's release of the Spitfire Mk. II in 1/32 scale is not a completely new kit. While the wings contain beautifully engraved detail, the fuselage and tail surfaces have the older style raised panel lines! Re-scribing the fuselage panel lines, while time consuming, is not that difficult because the majority are straight lines. The horizontal tail surfaces are another matter.

This kit addresses the problem by providing direct-replacement horizontal tail surfaces with corrected panel lines engraved to match the Hasagawa kit's wings.

Most wartime photographs of the Spitfire show the elevators in the lowered position. This is due to the fact that the Spitfire's controls were cable activated and unless the control lock was engaged in the cockpit, gravity would pull the elevators down. We have molded the elevators as separate parts to allow posing in the lowered position as well as refining and correcting the trim tab controls.

Perfectly cast in high quality resin, these direct-replacement tail surfaces are an easy and accurate update to your Hasagawa Spitfire Mk. II.
