Ever the enterprising engineer, Radu Brinzan brings us yet another superb product that will make itself at home in anyones “useful tools” collection. The “Flip-R10” photo-etched bending tool is a unique and new design in the modeling market. This is a complete bending brake, not just a clamp that holds the part while it is bent by an external blade. As you can see from the accompanying images it is quite adept at its task.
It is a robust and compact tool, which combines sturdiness, with convenience and due to its small size; it will reside comfortably out of the way on the workbench without causing any overcrowding. Most photo-etched parts modellers use are specifically prepared for bending with small grooves etched in that facilitate bending, and this tool is designed for that.
While Radu’s existing market is primarily within the aircraft modelling fraternity, I think this will be an excellent cross-over device, and it will find itself equally at home on the armour modeller’s workbench as well. At €25.00 for the tool, it is good value for money in my opinion, and a tool that will provide years of usefulness in many situations.
