Warnecke & Bomb, GMBH & Co supplied the RLM chips to Eagle Editions. They were the principal suppliers of aviation paint to the Luftwaffe during WW II. In all, there are 30 color chips. Each measures two square inches and they are mounted onto a three-page foldout of stiff, durable cardboard. The size of each chip is very helpful when cross-referencing to existing paint lines. Each color is identified by its RLM reference. Also included is a valuable chart indicating where the colors were usually found on the aircraft. A Certificate of Authenticity from the manufacturer indicates that these samples are the most accurate and authentic source for actual colors. Eagle Editions continues their partnership with Tom Tullis, as he supplies three colorful airbrushed side profiles for the cover. The first aircraft shown is "White 2", an Fw 190 A-6 flown by Fw. Gerhard Vivroux. The second profile is a Dora 9, "White 15". A photograph of this aircraft can be seen in the Monogram Close-Up on page 26. It is identified as W. Nr. 600651 of I./JG 2. "Yellow 11" was a Bf 109 G-5. It was lost while taking off from Lunenburg Airfield on April 8th, 1944.
These color chips are a valuable reference
that any modeler/historian alike should have as a reference. I recommend
