Productions ¶¶¶¶¶ Reviewed by Warbirds Productions has just released two styles of upper wing cannon blisters for the Supermarine Spitfire in 1/32nd scale.
The blisters are cast in Warbirds familiar grey resin. The only task for the modeler to perform is to remove the large casting blocks at the tapered end of each fairing. Accurate references will be needed for proper placement on the upper wing, as no instructions are included. Two different shapes of blisters are included. The teardrop blister was measured from an actual item, so I am confident in its shape. I am less familiar with the rectangular shaped blister. I am told that these were mainly found on early Mk Vc's. Examples can be found attached to SAAF Mk Vc's of No 2 Squadron. The 1/32nd scale Hasegawa Spitfire is a Mk Vb variant out of the box. These new blisters allow the modeler to add accurate details for those wishing to convert the kit to a Mk Vc. They will also find these blisters useful for some Mk VIII's (eg. C. Caldwell's) and early Mk IX's. Warbirds UK and Warbirds US continue to supply the modeler with accurate aftermarket items for the Supermarine Spitfire. For modelers striving to incorporate as much detail and accuracy into their models, I would strongly suggest giving their products a try. I recommend Warbirds Productions without hesitation.
