Hasegawa Bf109G-14 a quick look
by Mark Proulx

Judy and Jerry Crandall of Eagle Editions were kind enough to forward some photos of the differences that can be found in the new Hasegawa Bf 109G-14 molded in 1/32nd scale. This follows the very successful release of Hasegawa's Bf 109G-6 in what promises to be the start of a new family of Bf 109's in 1/32nd scale. Look for a Bf 109G-4, which was just announced, to be available this fall. The only differences to be found within this kit is the tall tail option with external trim tabs, decals and an Erla Haube canopy. A plastic rod is to be applied to the right side of the rudder to move the trim tab. Decals are supplied for two of Erich Hartmann's aircraft. The first is for his aircraft painted in white distemper "<<" I./JG 53 which was recorded as being a G-6 in his log book.
You can also find aftermarket decals in 1/32nd scale for these same markings from Eagle Editions on their decal sheet The Blonde Knight Erich Hartmann's Bf 109G-6 EC#36. The second aircraft is Hartmann's "White 1". The instructions show a G-14 tall tail but photographs clearly show this aircraft came equipped with a short tail. Thanks to Eagle Editions to take the time to post a few quick shots of this kit for what is sure to be a popular release.
