Rivet-R Riveting Tool
RB-T009
Review by Derek Bradshaw

I have just received Radu's new riveting tool, and I have had a little play around with it. It is a very simple but effective little tool. The teeth of the four wheels are very fine and sharp, so the effect on the plastic is very subtle, and they appear to look quite representative of the actual rivet shape and diameter, without the over-pronounced 'squareness' of the 'Rosie the riveter' tool (which in all fairness, has a different profile design to Radu's wheels). The tool feels sturdy enough in use, and the wheels are easy to interchange.

My only observation is that there is a slight amount of play around the pivot point of the wheel (the holes are fractionally larger in diameter in comparison to the diameter of the screw shank). This is not a problem though, providing you take care to remove the slack before you commence rolling the tool. I have used a piece of scrap plastic card to give you an impression of how the rivets look after application. The rivet spacing (pitch) is (from the smallest to the largest) 0.75mm, 1.00mm, 1.25mm and 1.50mm. I shall definately be making a lot of use of this tool on my pattern work!
