Master Model | AM-32-049: MiG-21 SM/M/MF Fishbed Pitot Tube

Reviewed by Kevin Williams

Here we have the turned brass pitot probe set from Master Model for the MiG-21 Fishbed.

Instructions are fairly comprehensive, given the rather simple nature of this addition.

Kit constitutes one set of brass tubes, one being the body of the boom, the other being the pitot probe/air inlet itself. Also included are six photo etched data vanes, though only four are required, so there are a couple spares. The forward portion of the probe has four tiny pre-drilled holes (90° separation) to help assure proper alignment of data vanes. I would recommend that vanes need to be 'beefed up' to some extent, as the real vanes were not flat, but had an airfoil shape.

The Real Deal

Summary

All things considered, if you're looking for a simple way to dress up your 1:32 MiG-21, this item just might be the ticket, as it provides the basis for a very attractive, realistic and simple enhancement.

This product is highly recommended for overall quality and detail.

Thanks to my wallet for the review sample.
