Cutting Edge Decals | CED32075 LTV A-7E Corsair II Desert Storm VA-72 CAG Bird

Reviewed by Floyd S. Werner, Jr.

The recent release of the Trumpeter 1/32 A-7E Corsair has been widely praised. Cutting Edge has now supplied a decal sheet to enable modelers to customize their big scale Corsair IIs. This scheme represents the desert camouflaged CAG bird from the Blue Hawks of VA-72 who operated off of the U.S.S. John F. Kennedy during the first gulf war. The decal sheet includes all major markings and stencils including the large "Desert Storm" marking over the wings. Also included are mission markings.

This was truly one of the more unique color schemes to emerge from the conflict and will definitely set your Corsair apart from the rest on the display or contest table. The instructions contain all four views so you can get the camouflage right and the decal sheet is up to Cutting Edge's customary high standard of quality with minimal carrier film, crisp well registered printing and perfect register. It would have been nice if there were a couple marking options on the sheet but frankly, with a kit of this size, that's an unrealistic expectation. If you're looking for something other than gray or white to clad your Corsair in, then this is an excellent option.

Recommended.
