Fotocut | WW I Era Sight Assortment in 1/32nd scale

Reviewed by Mark Proulx

Fotocut has an extensive 1/32nd scale photo etch product line available for the model builder wishing to add additional details to their kits. One of the items available is an assortment of WW I gun sights. This is a review of that set.

Included within the package is an assortment of small photo etch gun sights mounted on Fotocut's familiar neoprene backing. Instructions are also included. The package was labeled as a 1/35th scale item, but a quick check of their price list shows that no such item is available. I assume it to be their 1/32nd scale item that is advertised.

The Fotocut price list states that five different sights are included. Specific details describing where to bend each sight are included within the instructions. Unfortunately, no details are supplied as to where the sights are to be mounted and to which type of gun they apply to. Consequently, additional references are required. General Instructions are included on the opposite side of the instruction sheet.

The photo etch items are crisply etched and they are easily removed from the rubber backing. I was able to carefully do this with little difficulty using a sharp hobby knife. Small tabs are added to each sight to aid in attachment.

Due to the many different types of sights that can be found, I am sure that some of these could also apply to your WW II aircraft. I highly recommend this product to those modelers looking for additional aftermarket details for their WW I models.

Review Samples Compliments of Fotocut.
