Vector | Le Rhone 110-120hp Oberursel Ur.II

Reviewed by Floyd S. Werner, Jr.

New to the aftermarket scene, Vector, has come out Russia like Old Man Winter. Providing high quality castings with exceptional detail, this company has engines that you don't normally find, as well as, the common engines.

Often overlooked, Vector has cast World War I engines. This covers the engines for the Roden kits just in time. This particular engine fits the Fokker Dr 1 and many other World War I rotary engined aircraft and is the first offerings in this scale as far as I know. They are beautifully cast in light grey resin with exquisite detail. This particular engine contains 17 bubble free pieces that will greatly enhance your rotary engine airplane.

For a limited time when you order you also get a free 6-foot length of detail solder with every engine you order. Now you can plumb this engine and I guarantee it won't take 6 feet to do it. There will plenty left over for you to work with on cockpits and a variety of other uses.

You can obtain your copy of this and the other engines available (currently 14 1/72nd, 19 1/48th and 3 in 1/32nd) from Buffie's Best. They have the exclusive US distribution rights for the entire Vector line.

I know what you are thinking, Buffie's Best? Aren't they the guys that did those Restoration Illustrated CDs? Yes and they are the sole distributors for the Vector product line. The engines are just the tip of the iceberg with more engines, interior and detail sets scheduled to come out.

I highly recommend this engine. Finally World War I modelers can get the level of detail that World War II modelers have enjoyed for years.

Thanks to Buffie's Best for the review copy.
