Multi-consoles by Chris Novak
I remember a few months ago some guys were desperately asking for "more space" for their models. I for myself have found a very good solution to give every "baby" of my collection it´s own place and keep it as "movable" as possible, f. e. for exhibitions or, and that´s the trick, for wall-mount or standing on it´s base. In a local homeworker-store I found some consoles originally used for wall-shelfes in a great looking Design and two sizes.
If you can´t find consoles like that let them make from a joiner or a cabinet-maker.
The model-base right is a normal wooden base like used ( and self-made) by many modellers , the important thing is the back of the base:
On the left pic the back of the base can be seen with two holes drilled into, same as on the top of the console in right pic.
Two wooden plugs are fitted into the console and only there they are fixed with white glue. You can now look for a place on the wall for your baby, mount your console and at least put the base on it........hope your plugs fit? As seen in first pic ( entrence of my office) you can mount two or more models in different height, in a line, anyway you want it . The following pics are also taken in my office and as you can see: every place is a good place for model!
Hope this helps to keep your collections growing, happy modelling © Chris Novak 2003 |
