The Waco CG-4 is based on a Fiddlers Green model. I scaled up the paper model to 1/32nd scale and laminated the paper patterns onto poster board. I used cardboard bulkheads in the fuselage. and wooden dowels as spars in the wings and tail for strength. Skids, struts and wheels are all wood. The model is finished with Testors Paints.The model is big with a wingspan of 32 inches.
The DFS-230 is based on a paper 1/72 scale model designed and built by Eric Johnson. Again I enlarged the parer model and laminated the pattern onto poster board, and built the model in the same manner as the Waco. I modified the model with the addition of the clear canopy, pilot, and machine gun.
