Taka-ryu Fictional Fighter

By Ben Mignano

In 1945 Japan wanted to build their version of the Fw 190c or Ta 153, but the war in the Pacific prevented their efforts. So I followed up on history, and styled and scratched built my own out of styrene/resin 1:32 scale mock up.

I gave the project a name: "Taka-ryu", which means dragon hawk. It has the DB 605 powerplant, which gives a speed of 472 mph...a long range fighter which can escort the "Fugaku" bombers safely to their destination and back, hence the squadron emblem on the tail which is a symbol, symbolizing a swoop around a blue ball.

A blend of German engineering and Shogun.
