Trumpeter 1/32 P-47D Razorback

P-47D-22-RE Thunderbolt "Stalag Luft III/Button Nose" 62nd FS, 56th FG
Lt. Albert A. Knafelz of the 62nd Fighter Squadron, 56th Fighter Group out of Boxted, was assigned this aircraft from May 24 - July 27th, then it was reassigned to Lt Darrel McMahan, who flew it until September 17, 1944 when it sustained category E battle damage and was written off.
Additions to the base model:

- Airscale instrument decals and placards
- Barracuda diamond tread mainwheels
- Quickboost Hamilton Standard propeller
- Master gun barrels

Paints, including RAF Dark Green, RAF Ocean Grey and US Olive drab for the anti-glare and overpaint of invasion stripes are MRP Lacquers. The NMF finish on the underside is Gunze Super metallic (super silver?).

Markings include masks from Maketar for the National insignia, squadron code masks were cut using Kitsworld decals as templates. The Kitsworld noseart and tail code decals were used as is. Various stencils from a Barracuda set were also used.
