Tamiya 1/32 F-15C Eagle

By Luc Janssen

Introduction

After building the F-15E Strike Eagle, I wanted to make the F-15C as well. I opted for a fighter based at Lakenheath, England in the typical Gray-Gray paint scheme. Underwing stores were limited to a centre line fuel tank, an AIM-120B and a CATM-9. As a personal fantasy, I made from scratch a travel pod and painted it in the same colours as on top of the vertical stabilators.

The Tamiya kit is of their standard quality, and I used some aftermarket sets to improve it with even more details. These sets are extremely detailed, but some work must be done to get everything in the right place and fitting correctly.

When looking at a lot of photos, I noticed that most F-15Cs do not show heavy weathering and consequently, I gave the model only limited traces of such weathering.

As usual, I put the model on a simple base, together with a boarding ladder and a toolbox. I prefer to keep dioramas simple and certainly not overloaded . . .
