Trumpeter 1/32 TBF-1C Avenger
By Ernest Roth
I recently completed the Trumpeter TBF-1C in the Atlantic camo scheme.
I did some fairly extensive scratch-building to the engine, turret, and undercarriage, adding electrical or hydraulic connectors and their respective lines and/or additional junction or electrical boxes.
The hydraulic components of the wing fold areas are also completely scratch-built.
I used the Synthetic Ordnance Works Landing Gear Legs, and a few other aftermarket items on the build.
The pilot figure is a reedoak offering that I painted with acrylics using the layering and glazing techniques combined; a departure for me as I normally use oil paints over an acrylic base.
The base is a section of the flight deck acquired from Eureka XXL. I used the hairspray technique to heavily weather it.
For more info on the construction, see my build thread in the Work in Progress forum.
