HK Models 1/32 A-20G Havoc
By Larry Trout
Just completed my A-20G Havoc.
Finished in the markings of 'Ravin Rachael' of the 312th Bomb Group, 389th Bomb Squadron in New Guinea Oct, 1944.
I added a Quinta cockpit decal set, moved the instrument panel aft, added gunsight details, fabricated a canopy curtain and added other handles to the canopy. I also added Eduard wheels and brake lines, replaced the kit gun barrels with Quickboost ones and added shell belts to the turret.
Additional work included adding spark plug wires and the missing governors to the engines, HK doesn't seem to like governors...
The model was painted using MRP paints and weathered using paints, pencils and pastels. I went for faded paint to depict a well-weathered aircraft.
I used Zotz Havoc in the PTO decals for markings.
I lost the little gunsight that mounts in front of the windshield and will fabricate a new one. Discovered during final assembly, lost to the carpet monster....
Thanks for looking and all comments welcome.
