Border Models 1/35th Nakajima B5N2 Type 97 Carrier Attack Bomber (Kate)
By Aleksandr Bielykov
I’m pleased to present my latest project: a Border “Kate” in 1:35 scale, which is unusual for aviation models.
The assembly went smoothly; I had no issues with the fit or the quality of the parts. In some places, you’ll need to deviate from the instructions, but that will all become clear to anyone who builds this kit. Especially the propeller and engine assembly. However, in terms of how closely it resembles the real Kate aircraft, it’s not great. But that’s the company’s style with this model. I kept it as is.
I documented the build in the Work in Progress forum; everything is detailed there. Enjoy the build log, everyone!
Editor's Note: I also suggest following Aleksandr's build log on building Border's model of the bridge and partial deck of the Akagi, which will be the base for the Kate.
