Siam Scale | SSN-32003 F-5E Tiger II Royal Thai Air Force

Reviewed by Andrew Birnie

Upon receipt of the new F-5E kit from Kitty Hawk I dug out the decals I had intended to use on the Hasegawa kit. The aircraft wore probably a greater number of colour schemes than any other modern combat aircraft, but for me the one that stands out above all others is the unique blue/grey scheme applied to the Royal Thai Air Force aircraft.

This decal sheet from Siam Scale consists of options for five aircraft - three in the blue/grey scheme, though the first option uses slightly different paints, and finally two in colours similar to those flown by the Swiss amongst others, together with comprehensive stencils.

The package comes with a post card size colour sheet and two A4 black and white paint, and decal placement instructions, though it is advisable to search google images to see photos of the real thing, for instance decal 6 isn't featured on the instructions, but can be found on the central drop tank nose of 711 Sqn aircraft.

The decals themselves are of a very high quality, superb registration, and provide something out of the ordinary.

You can purchase from Model Delivery.
