Berna Decals | BD 32-07: N.A. Mustang F-6 France 1945

Reviewed by Andrew Birnie

I've always had a penchant for reconnaissance aircraft, and when I snagged the superb Tamiya P-51D/K, which also includes parts for the F-6D reconnaissance version a seed was sown.

Browsing the Berna Decals products on the Hannants website last week I came across a set of decals for French Air Force F-6 Mustangs, my interest was piqued. Containing all the essentials to model one of four examples, two F-6Ds and two F-6Cs - one has the canopy of a P-51B, the other a Malcolm Hood. All the F-6s supplied to the Armee de l'Air were former USAAF stock.

The decals are very nicely printed, and thin, with great colour representation, especially the insignia blue. The instructions are clear, and though they are in black and white, you can find colour profiles of the options available, or ones very similar, without much trouble via the Internet.

A great set providing something a little different, hopefully when a new 1/32 P-51B/C kit does see the light of day, it will include parts for an F-6C.
