My first foray into Harpia Publishing, and I must say I'm mighty impressed so far with what I see.

Andreas Rupprecht is quite widely known as an aviation related author, having penned numerous Harpia Publishing titles over the years.

This particular book, obviously explores the Flanker as used by the Chinese PLAAF, specifically covering the wide ranging variants of the Flanker, including "one offs" specifically modified by themselves (much to the displeasure of the Russians).

At least one good quality kit (Trumpeter) does exist of the Su-27 Flanker, so one should easily be able do a representative example or two that are depicted here.

Typical Photo Quality to be Found Throughout

Included in this volume as well, are a few nicely done color profiles (as seen above).

Summation

To me, the high point of this volume, is the overall appeal of the subject matter, all packaged in a smooth, attractive presentation, and on good quality photo stock; good value, given the overall intensity of the content.

For any and all fans of more obscure aviation related material out there, this book is most definitely recommended.

On a scale of 1 to 10, I’d rate this book as a solid 10, no question about it. For the many Sukhoi Su-27 Flanker fans out there, this book just broadens the scope of what was previously known about this theater and operator.

My review copy compliments of Casemate Publishers. Many thanks to Casemate, it's truly an outstanding book, really top-notch stuff, and I'm very pleased to now have it.
