PJ Productions | 1/32nd line of access ladders

Reviewed by Saso Knez

Recently I required the PJ productions modern fighter pilot. I mentioned that this item will also be reviewed on site. Then Philippe JACQUES the owner of PJ (Philippe Jacques=PJ got it?) sent me his whole line as review samples. I like Philippe.

OK, there are two access ladders currently available one for the Mirage and the other for the Starfighter

We will start with the simpler one.

321112 Access ladder for Mirage

This ladder is made up of only two parts. Assembly is quick there is no need for any clean-up. The resin is superbly casted.

I’ve seen this type of ladder on Israeli Mirage IIICJ and on Brazilian Neshers, so I guess you can use it with both the Revell V and III versions.

Now this is not so simple. It is made of quite a few parts. Most are very thin and this is the source for my only complaint. More about this later. The parts are superbly cast and require no clean up whatsoever. Now in order to assure the realism the parts must be thin. If they are thin and long the warp. And they were warped. Since they were so thin I just aligned them with a help of a wood scorcher tip held close by. The unwarping went rapidly and when the assembly is glued together it will align itself for a certain degree.

There is also a thing that you get. You get a resin base for bending the metal that servers as a hand rail. Now this is nice. They even have marked where you should cut off the rails. But, don’t use the wire supplied. I used it and destroyed a knife blade cutting it. I think some thick soldier wire would be ideal for the task.

Of course I didn’t measure the dimensions of the ladder, but it looks correct and looks good against the Starfighter. That is all I need.

I was also impressed by the packaging and the overall professionalism by the company. I like them, I like their models, and I hope they keep turning up more 1/32 scale items. Their pilot figure will be reviewed a bit later and compared with some Reheat and others.
