Red Roo | #RRD3208 and #RRD3209 1/32 CAC Boomerang

Reviewed by Dan LoRusso

These are 2 sets for the new 1/32nd resin Montex CAC Boomerang or the rare FM vacuform kit. These are RRD3208 and RRD3209. Both sheets depict aircraft from 4 Squadron RAAF in late 1944. These are both delicately printed decals with the carrier film covering the entire 8" x 5.75" sheet. So you will have to trim each individual decal yourself. Both come with complete markings for any of the individual aircraft including the Commonwealth "Speed Bird" tail logo. In fact I believe you have the markings for at least 2 complete aircraft. Each set comes with a full color profile sheet (shown) as well as a B&W sheets with a brief squadron history, list of references, specific Boomerang notes, paint suggestions, profiles and the historical information of each of the aircraft depicted. The color is great and the registration on my examples is spot on! All the aircraft save one are in the overall RAAF Foliage Green. There are some typos or erroneous info (ie, stating the yellow decals on some of the names and the bow on Bouncing Bid should be applied first, then apply the red bordering highlight decal) when in actuality the red border is already printed together with the yellow on the decal sheets.

All in all I'll give these 2 sets a big thumbs up! A four of five rating. Not having had the chance to actually use them is the only reason I haven't given them a five of five. Well that and now I have TOO many choices on my Boomerang!
